LEIGH BATES
OWNER & PRACTICING THERPIST
LICENSED PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR, CERTIFIED ART THERAPIST, PLAY THERAPIST, AND POSITIVE DISCIPLINE PARENT EDUCATOR
Leigh is a Certified Art Therapist in Denver, Colorado. She was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. In high school, she developed a knack for art and from there, began exploring careers that would involve creativity and expression.
After attending Auburn University (War Eagle!) where she focused on Studio Art and Psychology, she took her talents north to the University of Louisville. While in grad school, she worked at inpatient hospital settings, specializing in Adolescents, Trauma, and Crisis Management.
While living in Louisville, she was named a Board Certified Art Therapist and a Licensed Practicing Counselor. Towards the end of her years in Louisville, she began working in private practice where she honed her skills in Play Therapy.
Under the supervision of a Play Therapist, she began the arduous process of obtaining her RPT. She then became educated in Child Centered Play Therapy, Filial Therapy, Autplay, and Polyvagal.
She particularly enjoys working with children under 7 and collaborating closely with parents to strengthen the bond between child and parent. In addition to art, play, and counseling, she is a Positive Discipline Parent Educator.
Leigh moved to Denver in 2023 to begin her own practice in an exciting city. When she's not working, she spends time with her family, enjoys traveling the world, and can often be found spoiling her dog.
